Monthly music mania: BTS, JMIN, AB6IX, and The Kid Laroi?

To have some consistency of song reviews on this blog, I’ll post thoughts on one or more songs I’m obsessed with every month called ‘Monthly music mania’. So creative. Maybe you’ll find a new jam or question my song choices. We’ll see.

Butter–BTS feat. Megan Thee Stallion

I see you rolling your eyes at me. But you can’t deny the power of this remix.

I’m a huge fan of Butter. When the remixes came out, I was super excited but was left disappointed. They weren’t bad, but they didn’t meet my expectations either.

When BTS announced this collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, I was intrigued but kept my expectations low. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this remix came together.

Megan’s part and adlibs are like the cherry on top of an already great song. If this were the official Butter song with a music video, it would probably break the internet. And, I mean, as it should.

No, I’m not biased. What are you talking about?

Wave–JMIN feat. CAMO

JMIN’s album slaps. Every song is so good that I can rave about it all day. But Wave is my favourite.

There’s a certain swag to Wave that hooks you in.

Maybe it’s the instrumental or JMIN and CAMO’s amazing vocals. Whatever it is, it’s such a great drive song and I’m living for it. JMIN’s deep voice, though. I need to fan myself.

Breathe–AB6IX

This is my first time listening to AB6IX. This song randomly played on my daily mixes on Spotify, and I was instantly hooked.

I love how upbeat it is; I can see this playing at a club. It’s one of those songs that puts you in a good mood.

Painting–Meego

I was listening to a K-indie playlist when this song came on. This radiates coffee shop vibes and it’s a perfect track for a rainy day.

His voice and melody go so well together that it feels like your troubles are melting away.

Bonus: STAY–The Kid LAROI with Justin Bieber

This song speaks for itself; I’ve been obsessed with it for a while now.

I don’t think I’ve seen a bad comment about this song. And, I mean, what bad things could you say about it? It’s a masterpiece.

I’m on holiday right now, so I’ll probably be replaying these tracks on my walks until they get out of my head. But, STAY, Wave, and Butter are on another level.
