There was so much hype around this solo debut that you’d have to be living under a rock not to hear about it. Lisa’s the third Blackpink member to have her solo debut, and it wasn’t too far off from what I was expecting.
I expected a fire rap verse, which Lisa delivered. I expected the lyrics to be about how badass and awesome she is, which, well, met the bare minimum. I expected this to have a better instrumental.
I can take the bare bones of LALISA but that obnoxious-sounding instrumental makes it difficult to even enjoy that.
Besides Lisa’s rap, LALISA felt very repetitive, especially that chorus. I guess I’m starting to agree with those saying that Teddy’s just recycling the same old beat. Is this a corporate sound now? I suppose creativity has to stop somewhere.
I didn’t watch the MV, which I expect to have amazing visuals, colors, and oozing with Lisa’s charisma. But lately, it feels like YG’s relying on visuals to distract from a mediocre track.
I don’t know what to say about this, honestly. I wasn’t blown away, but I wasn’t disappointed. I was just:

I get your points. I was satisfied with this song but kinda missed her heavy rapping. Visuals were damn 🔥

It was a good song but it didn’t live up to the hype. You’re right tracks are pretty mediocre but the visuals are amazing so I guess that’s good. Anyway I was more upset that there wasn’t a sick dance break😭😭, maybe it will be better in the future comebacks.

Maybe there’ll be a dance break in the live performances. It’ll give it some color, that’s for sure

I agree. This felt like all other blackpink songs. repetitive chant chorus, same kinda instruments of other bp songs. we all expected something like this?
but, tbh I like bp songs [bcz they r hype type?] so this is always welcome. The fast rap was amazing and I loved the part before the chorus end. And the mv is stunning ofcourse.
