A gift for Poorwa: Poorwa’s Kpop playlist

A huge thank you to Poorwa for supporting this project! Poorwa started blogging last year. She blogs about all of her interests, and she’s such a nice person to talk to. She’s currently doing a Photography Contest on her blog!

Poorwa wanted to give a special shoutout to these specific blogs. I know some of you don’t know me, so please use the GIF as my introduction.

  • Alexa @ A Fangirl’s Hideaway (I love her homepage. So simple with cute designs.)
  • Pavithra @ Small Talks (I also follow Pavithra, and I enjoy reading her Kpop-related posts!)
  • Asic @ Officially Haven (Hey, asic! Hope you’re doing well. 🙂 I also made a Kpop playlist for her. She blogs about all of her interests, and she’s the GIF queen.)
  • Saumya @ DRAW-WRITE-INSPIRE (Another fellow ARMY. <3)
  • Ananya @ Drawing My Fantasies (Another fellow ARMY who blogs about her interests. You can never tired of knowing too many ARMYs.)

Enjoy your playlist, Poorwa!

Like Water – Wendy

Like Water is my favourite song of the year so far. It makes you feel calm. And I think we all need some of that right now. I interpreted Like Water as a love song representing the different types of love you can receive from others: romantic, platonic, familial, etc.

Poorwa mentioned multiple times about “following her heart” in her answers. Like Wendy mentioned in an interview, water is essential in our lives. And I believe that following your heart is an essential part of life to be happy. However, we shouldn’t let it take over our rationalizations.

Poorwa also mentioned that she wants to make her family proud with her decisions. I just want to point out this one lyric from the song:

And I just wanna thank you for believing in me

Wendy

I would think that would be anyone’s response to their biggest supporters, which I’m sure her family would support whatever decisions she makes for her future.

Not Shy – ITZY

Not Shy is a fun, funky track that talks about being bold with your feelings.

Poorwa mentioned that she likes to keep a strong personality. ITZY always give powerful performances, and this song is no different.

ITZY also own their confidence and rock it to their advantage. It’s something I associated with Poorwa’s answers when she mentioned the lengths she would go to protect her loved ones.

Fake Love – BTS

Fake Love is about losing yourself in a relationship. Poorwa talked about being just the way you are in a relationship. Well, this song is meant to communicate the dangers of losing yourself in a loveless relationship.

On a side note, is anyone excited for Butter? Because I am.

KILLA – MIRAE

I don’t usually check out rookie groups. But I came across this on a whim, and I was blown away. This is too good for a debut. I love the sci-fi vibe of the MV and the high-energy song.

Poorwa mentioned she likes playing video games. The CGI and the outfits do make it seem like these boys could become video game characters.

I was deciding between this or Black Mamba by aespa, but I want to show some love to this rookie group. They have great potential.

Water Color – Whee In

If you only listen to one song on the playlist, just listen to this one. I am still crushing on Whee In so hard. The girl can move and has amazing vocals.

Poorwa mentioned that she likes to draw and paint. There are more songs incorporating animation recently. IU’s Eight is another one that animates part of the MV. I chose this one instead because of the message.

The song talks about being comfortable in your own skin. Think of it as a follow-up song to Fake Love, where you really should be comfortable with who you are before pursuing a relationship.

I hope you found a song that you enjoy!
