Rating Female Character Designs from Another Eden (Part 1)

Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space is a free-to-play role-playing video game for mobile and PC.

The story follows Aldo and his sister, Feinne. When Feinne gets kidnapped by the Beast King, Aldo desperately attempts to rescue his sister, but a distortion in space and time occurs and whisks Aldo away 800 years into the future.

If you love Japanese-style RPGs, you’ll love the design and gameplay. This is the first mobile game in a while that had me hooked.

Unfortunately, the mobile version stopped supporting my mobile device, so I couldn’t update the game anymore… When I found out it was on Steam, I was more disappointed that it didn’t support Mac.

But for some reason, I recently found it back on the Play Store… It doesn’t look like I can get my data back, so I guess it’s another grind from the beginning.

The character designs in this game are stunning. And I thought it would be fun to rate some of the female character designs. There will definitely be more parts as there are a lot of characters.

For those familiar with the game, I’ll be rating the “Another style” designs rather than their original. But if they don’t have another style, I’ll just rate their highest rank.

I got this idea when I was watching ProZD ranking Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and anime characters.

Hismena

Holy crap. I didn’t even recognize Hismena! I had her for one of my teams and was in the middle of training her before I couldn’t play anymore. But wow, her second design looks so different from her previous ones.

But there’s too much going on in the background. Though, the colours, her posture, and the enlarged weapon make up for it.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Milsha

I. love. this. Everything about this is perfection. I love the water and fish behind her, which really makes her design stand out. The way they made the water look like a giant fish behind her is also very creative. The colours are also incredible.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Ilulu

I feel like this design just tells a story. I love the colour of her pants and how it looks like she’s just kneeling on water. The Sakura tree and the birds in the background are like the cherry-on-top.

While the background looks amazing, it takes away the focus on the character. Still, I really like this design, but it didn’t ‘wow’ me on the first try.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Hozuki

Holy crap, this girl’s got legs for days. I actually like her previous design better. I’m not sure what’s going on with this one.

Is she near the moon? Is that even a moon? Is that fire coming out of her? What’s with the random tree that looks like it’s sprouting from her leg? Overall it’s meh for me.

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Rosetta

It’s my girl, Rosetta! She is one of my favorite characters in the game. She was also on my main team. I love the colors in this, and how they changed up her colors instead of black and red like her previous designs. This gives her a more goddess-like look, and I am here for it. The white and gold are perfection.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Melissa

I’m not sure how I feel about this. Her stance is cool. But I’m not a huge fan of the giant shield thing in front of her. I’m not sure how I feel about the random red and white ‘swish’ either. It would’ve been cool to see something more technology-centric.

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Heena

This design looks so cool. She looks like she’s in the middle of an epic fight. I love her weapon that looks like it’s going to come out of the screen, and the effects of her jump. The bold red is also a nice touch, and the flower petals at the back give her a feminine touch. It’s a great balance of badass and elegance.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Yukino

Overall, I like this design. But the ice around her takes the focus away from the character. I’m also not fond of her posture. What is she doing exactly? Well, I like the colours.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Tsukiha

This is a simple design, but I love it. The focus is completely on the character, and the things around her amplify her elegance. I also like the contrast: the fire and the fish. Overall, a great design.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Yuri

I love this. I love her posture and the sharp wind behind her that implies her abilities and personality. The focus is also very much on the character.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I’ll stop here, since there’s already ten characters. Did you have a favorite design from the list?

  1. Rosetta and Tsukiha’s designs are my favourite out of the bunch. I like their colour palettes. Rosetta’s outfit, haircut and pose screams beauty and grace. The figure to her left reminds me of a stand from the Jojo Bizarre Adventure universe. I agree with you on how elegant Tsukiha’s design is. I like how it mixes two opposing elements together with the flames and the fish. It compliments her outfit too since her kimono(?) Incorporates red, blue and gold (from the orb/lanterns). I am also a huge sucker for red oni horns.
