A huge thank you to Olivia for supporting this project! I’ve never talked with Olivia before; so it was exciting seeing someone new take part in this!
Olivia blogs about books, K-pop, anime, and asian dramas! Sounds like someone I know… Anyway, I think she’s a new blogger to the community, so please show her some love!
You can follow Olivia at the following links:
- Blog: Liv-ing Normally (I really enjoyed reading her Asian Drama tag. I saw some old dramas that got me in the feels. This tag is interesting. I might do it soon!)
- Twitter: @Living_Normally (I don’t have Twitter, so I unfortunately can’t link to this. ಠ_ಠ)
- Instagram: @liv_ing_normally
I hope you enjoy your Kpop playlist, Olivia!
Just Go – SONAMOO
SONAMOO had so much potential. I am not sure if they’re still together, actually. But considering they’re in TS Entertainment, I don’t have high hopes.
I chose this song for Olivia because, from her responses, I get the feeling that she’s a chill and fun person to be around.
The jazzy vibe and upbeat instrumental for this track represent Olivia’s fun side. But the lyrics and music video represent her calmer side.
The lyrics talk about trusting yourself and overcoming failure to pursue your goals. The music video is down-to-earth. It’s just the girls going about in their everyday lives, also something to represent Olivia’s calmer side.
Olivia talked about doing her best to achieve her dreams and not live without any regrets. I want to specifically point out this line: It’s okay if I fall. I’ll just brush it off and get up again.
I love this line, and I think it represents Olivia doing her best in anything and everything.
Power Up – Red Velvet
Red Velvet always have unique and quirky concepts. You can’t deny the fun and summer-y vibe of this song. It’s a vitamin for those dull days.
I chose this song because Olivia mentioned that she’s an energetic and happy person around others.
She also has a cute quirk where she instinctively says “good morning” no matter what time it is. No one can be as quirky, cute, and happy as Red Velvet in their upbeat tracks. Well, maybe TWICE, but that’s another story.
On a side note, this song took a while to grow on me. But once it did, I couldn’t get it out of my head.
BBI BBI – IU
Queen IU makes another appearance in a playlist.
This song is simple and catchy. The MV is also unique. The lyrics talk about having boundaries and giving a warning to others to not cross the line.
IU’s way of telling haters off is cool, calm, and collected. It’s a civil way rather than being upfront and aggressive.
Olivia mentioned that she would try to be civil with everyone, even if she knows someone is spreading rumours about her. She ain’t got no time for drama. So, I imagined her response to be similar to the vibe and context of this song.
Good for You – Eric Nam
Eric Nam is an underrated artist. I’m guilty that I thought he was only an emcee at first. It wasn’t until I stumbled upon his album that I discovered he also made music.
I chose this song because Olivia mentioned that she can usually tell if someone is good for a person or not.
Good For You talks about being interested in someone and knowing that he’s good for that person by being the ultimate support system. It’s a positive and cute way to start off a good relationship.
Egotistic – MAMAMOO
Our four fierce females makes another appearance in another playlist.
This is a follow-up song to Good For You.
While we all wish for a relationship to go well, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world.
Olivia mentioned not to lose yourself in a relationship, and Egotistic talks about having enough and leaving a toxic relationship.
I hope my answers and recommendations didn’t disappoint!
